What’s Your Story? Beginner Filmmaking Class

This particular class provides a unique opportunity for 10 teenagers between the ages of 13 and 17 to work with local documentary filmmaker, Troy Burnette, to learn how to interview, film, and produce footage. This course will engage students in the power of film and storytelling by providing them with hands-on experience in filmmaking while also teaching them about the Asheville community. Description

This class is for learning the basics of the camera, sound and lighting. This is a prerequisite class for the advanced class. In this class we will learn the basic skills of setting up and conducting interviews with a 3 point lighting system. After a few instructional classes we will conduct an actual interview in the field. We will then watch the interview for a critical analysis of the shoot. Anne is believes in giving back to her local community and loves serving people. When it comes to her involvement with The Joseph Initiative, she is passionate about creating an organization that values and serves others in a positive and encouraging manner. To help accomplish this goal, Anne is heavily involved in helping The Joseph Initiative with marketing efforts. On a personal note, Anne loves the outdoors, is an avid runner, and is currently training for her first ultramarathon in the beautiful mountains of Western North Carolina.
