The organization’s first initiative is to create some vocational, social and life skills programs for the teenagers in our community. “We are in the process of creating a class for teens who enjoy writing and are interested in pursing a career in journalism,” states Cowan. MAKE NEWS! is an after-school class designed for young community members to learn how to write news stories and features, from the beginning story idea to the final writing style and potential publication. More information on this and other teen programs will be available this February.
